Saturday, May 17, 2003 AD They Paved the Parking Lot and Put Up Paradise Our church office parking lot has been a mess of car-destroying rubble since I've been here. As I type, two gentlemen (my heros of the day!) are laying down new blacktop. Of course in a couple years, if our building project ever gets under way, it'll all get torn up again, but in the meantime, it looks heavenly. Of course "heavenly" is a relative term. In the midst of the urban blight that surrounds us in Pen Lucy, even fresh, smooth blacktop can seem like a touch of paradise.
