Tuesday, May 24, 2005 AD I Finally Did It! I finally asked my supervisor about the possibility of my working from home. We discussed the pros and cons, and she's going to talk it over with the president and the HR director. There's no precedent for local staff doing this on a regular basis, so they may not be amenable to it, but she seemed open to the possibility. I'd definitely want to start on a trial basis -- a month or so -- to see if it worked. I was honest about the possibility that I may be fooling myself with regard to my ability to be self-disciplined enough to work at home, but frankly, I can't see it being all that much more of a problem than being self-disciplined enough to work at the office. I hope they'll at least give me a chance to give it a try. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work, but if it does, I really think it would be a positive move for me.
