Valerie is a 42-year-old, single, Reformed Christian lady who lives in Baltimore. She doesn't remember a time
before she knew and loved Jesus, but she does remember accepting John Calvin into her heart in March of 2000.
Valerie is a member of Christ Reformed Evangelical Church in Annapolis.
Though her career aspiration is to be a housewife, Valerie has not yet found anyone suitable who wishes to hire
her for employment in that field (or, more properly, anyone suitable has not found her), so in the meantime she
earns her daily bread working in communications -- editing, writing, print design and website management.
On June 19, 2008 5:11 PMladyritawrote... That's funny that should post this because I just finished reading The Hiding Place for the first time this morning.
Just that comment alone reminds me of a funny story involving Douglas Gresham (the son of C.S. Lewis). A few years back he was in Washington for some sort of speaking engagement, and he appeared on the Janet Parshall talk radio program on WAVA-FM. Janet's show, at the time, was in afternoon drive-time, and her usual thing was Christianity and politics, culture, etc etc. Sort of like one of those right wing talk radio programs, only with a Christian bent. Anyway, they were talking about something and Janet asked him to comment on some point having to do with American evangelicals and some finer point of Lewis' writings, and Douglas, apparently perturbed by something, blurted out that whatever Janet brought up was "complete BS."
Only he didn't say "BS." Ah, the joys of live radio!
I wonder what was going through Mrs. Ten Boom's mind as she was sitting there in front of Mr. Smarmy. :-D
That's what I'll call him from now on. He does these commercials with Al Sharpton these days...I don't know who's worse!
